การละเล่นเด็กไทย มีลักษณะ มีรูปแบบ มีวิธีการเล่น และมีความหลากหลายแตกต่างกันออกไปตามแต่ละภาคของประเทศไทย ได้แก่ ภาคเหนือ ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ภาคกลาง และภาคใต้ เป็นต้น ซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงบริบทในสังคมสมัยก่อน ที่ใช้ชีวิตอย่างเรียบง่าย อยู่อย่างพอเพียง และมีความสุข ซึ่งการละเล่นเด็กไทยที่เป็นที่นิยมมากได้แก่ งูกินหาง รีรีข้าวสาร มอญซ่อนผ้า และโพงพาง เป็นต้น

Thai Children's Plays are simple but full of fun, enjoyment and show how creative ways to play in different games on Thai Children's Plays. This is show the identity and local wisdom that handed from generation to generation. With the simple materials that easy to find and also available from the nature e.g. banana rib, pebbles, sticks, clothes and etc.
Thai Children's Plays have plenty of variety games, those are unique and also difference kinds of activities according to the region of Thailand e.g. North, Northeast, Central and Southern Regions. Which reflects and shown the social context in the past. The simple life is sufficient and happy. The popular games are Ngoo Gin Haang (Tail-eating Snake), Ree Ree Khao Saan (Trapped Between the Arches), Morn Sorn Phaa (A Morn/Khmer Hides a Cloth), Phong Phaang (Thai Fish Trap) and etc.
